Press Release: Warn Adds to Industrial Line

Warn Adds to its Industrial Winch Line
New Series 15 winches are targeted toward use on commercial, military and specialty vehicles

Clackamas, OR (November 3, 2003) Warn Industries today introduced its Series 15 winches, the newest members of the company's industrial winch line. The series 15 winches provide super-duty pulling and lifting performance, extending the capabilities Warn offers with its existing Series 6, Series 9 and Series 12 products. Typical platforms include tow and recovery trucks, military vehicles, fire and rescue fleets and specialty vehicles.

The series 15 line is currently comprised of two DC models (12 and 24 volt electric) and one hydraulic model. They are all manufactured to Warn's exacting quality and performance standards, and they are fully compliant with the SAE J706, NFPA 1901-73 and CE guidelines.

For electrically powered applications, customers can choose either the 12-volt Series 15 DC (PN 66032) or the 24-volt Series 15 DC (PN 65932). Both feature high-power, extended run time Series Wound motors with industrial contactors and heavy-duty remote controls. They have hardened steel gear trains and disc brakes designed for extended power-out use. Each has a maximum load rating of 15,000 lbs. (6818 kg), and a 4-in. (102mm) steel drum that provides maximum durability for the wire rope.

To meet the needs of hydraulic winching applications, the Series 15 HYD (PN 65931) unit is available. Like its DC-powered counterparts, the Series 15 HYD has a 15,000 lb. (6818 kg) load rating, is manufactured of hardened steel gear train and comes with a 4-in. (102 mm) steel drum. It is built with a 2-stage planetary gear train (36:1 total reduction) and a heavy-duty automatic disc brake and locking clutch lever.

Accessories available for the Series 15 winches include overload interrupts (DC models), roller fairleads, wire rope tension plates and remote clutch kits. The new Series 15 models are backed by the same award winning support and service that Warn recreational and Industrial customers have come to expect.
