Press Release: AC Products in WARN Works Lineup

AC Products Now Included in WARN Works Lineup
Warn Industries makes three AC winches available, adding to versatility of its new line of tools for consumers and professionals in commercial trades

Clackamas, OR (August 7, 2003) Even as it launches its new WARN Works family, Warn Industries continues to expand the unique line of power tools. In addition to a DC line of winches and hoist for do-it-yourselfers and tradesmen of all types, WARN Works also includes a set of AC-powered products, starting with three winches and an initial hoist (see separate release).

Like the DC line, the WARN Works AC products capitalize on the company's 50-plus years of off-road product know-how and reflect its unwavering commitment to top quality and outstanding performance. The AC line also will be sold through home centers and selected equipment supply outlets, and will exhibit the distinctive orange and gray WARN Works brand.

Certain to attract attention are the 1500AC and 3200AC winches. The 1500AC has a 1,500 lb. pulling capacity, making it well suited to a variety of uses, such as moving landscaping shrubs and trees, raising roof trusses, or pulling shop equipment into position. It features a 0.6 hp double insulated DC rectified, permanent-magnet motor powered by a 120 volt 50/60 Hz 1-Phase AC source (through an 8' electrical cord and standard three-prong plug); an all metal gear housing and split ring gear design; and braking based on a self-locking gear train that holds the full rated load. A pendant-style control switch and 12' lead provide for easy power in/out of the 35' of 5/32" wire rope.

The 3200AC, with its 3,200 single line capacity, is designed for more demanding applications, such as positioning large trees for planting, placing heavy framing timbers or beams; or moving large machinery around a plant or production facility. While it shares certain features with the 1500AC-including a 0.6 hp double insulated DC rectified motor and 120 volt 50/60 Hz power source-it incorporates tougher-duty components including a three-stage planetary gear system, a multi- directional clutch and a mechanical braking system. The 3200AC also has a pendant style control system with a 12' lead; the winch comes with 60' of 7/32" wire rope.

Rounding out the current winch line is the WARN Works 3000ACI, a rugged model powered by a .075 hp 115/230 volt, fan-cooled TEFC Induction motor designed to handle longer duty cycles. The 3000ACI has a 3,000 lbs. rated pulling capacity, so it's well suited to demanding use, such as pulling underground piping or positioning boat dollies or ramps. A lever-actuated sliding ring gear clutch adds muscle and safe free-spooling; the winch also comes with a mechanical braking system, 100' of 5/16" wire rope and a drum-style station control switch for easy power in and out.

To ensure that WARN Works products can be used in Europe and Asia-Pacific, models are available that operate on 230 volt 50Hz current.
