Press Release: New 9.5xp Low Profile Winch

9.5xp is New Powerhouse in Warn's Low Profile Winch Line

Clackamas, OR (November 3, 2003) Warn Industries has introduced the WARN 9.5XP Winch, its toughest offering in the popular 9.5 series of low profile winches. Designated XP for Extreme Performance, the new winch leads the lineup with its combination of pulling power, duty cycle and line speed.

The 9.5XP owes its 9500-lb. pulling muscle to a newly designed High Output Parallel Series Wound motor. Features of this 6-hp. power plant include massive field coils and armature windings to reduce electrical resistance and minimize heat buildup. A cooling end cap utilizes a new fin design to help keep the motor temperature well in check in long run times.

Warn equipped the 9.5XP with a unique control pack for continuous duty operation and no load line speeds is a fast 38 ft./min. (11.6 M/min). The company's legendary 3-stage planetary gearing (156:1 ratio) and multi-segment, cam actuated braking combine to provide for positive control under the most demanding winching conditions. Full-face contact drum seals and motor-end housing gaskets contribute to extreme-duty water resistance.

For added protection against chipping and corrosion, the 9.5XP features a high gloss powder coat finish over chrome-coated alloys. The unit comes with a weather resistant 12ft(3.7m) remote control for ease of operation.

The 9.5XP winch kit includes 125 ft. of 5/16-in. wire rope-the longest length of the WARN low profile winch lineup- and a roller fairlead. Among the optional accessories are snatch blocks, shackles, tree protectors, chocker chains and gloves.
