| Warn Introduces Newly Developed
Winch Rope
WARN Synthetic Rope engineered with unique blend of fibers,
field-test
proven for strength, durability and handling ease
Clackamas, OR (April 15, 2003) With the needs of
rock crawlers and trail rig owners in mind, Warn Industries has developed
a synthetic rope for winching. With its unique blend of high-performance
fibers, the new WARN Synthetic Rope can stand up to any rock crawling
or advanced trail challenge while reducing winch weight and fairlead wear
and tear.
The result of extensive research and field testing, the
WARN Synthetic Rope is 100 ft. (30.48 m) in length and 3/8 in. in diameter,
and is designed for use on winches with rated capacities of 9,500 lbs
or less. The first 30 ft.-wound nearest the drum-is made of a liquid crystal
polymer fiber that provides excellent strength and bending properties
over a wide range of temperatures. The remaining 70 ft. length-from the
hook back-is woven from a polyethylene fiber that exhibits superior handling
and abrasion resistance.
"We've made a synthetic rope design that lives up to the
standards of performance and quality demanded of the Warn winch," said
Thomas Giacomini, Chief Operating Officer for Warn Industries. "Now, crawlers
and trail riggers can tackle practically any obstacle confidently, with
less winch weight, and get an added jump on the competition."
WARN Synthetic Rope comes standard with a rugged safety
latch hook featuring a 360-degree swivel and thimble. Also included is
a "Ballistic Nylon" sliding sleeve that provides extra protection against
abrasion and wear.
