2008 Easter Jeep Safari
2008 EASTER JEEP SAFARI

My friends and I were heading up to do a sunset run up Kane Creek when we spotted a Jeep on the side of the road with a driver side rear wheel missing. I quickly pulled over to find out if everyone was okay and if they needed any help. From what I was told, everyone was okay but they had lost their wheel and it went down the embankment and into the Colorado River some 30' below. The wife standing next to the Jeep continued to explain that her husband went down into the river to try and retrieve it. Needless to say, my friends and I hurried up the road until we spotted a man struggle to get ashore with a big 37" tire. Using my WARN PowerPlant to help me down the embankment, I made my way through the brush, introduced myself, informed the man that I was there to help and then proceeded to use my winch to bring the wheel back up to the road. Now, I have used this amazing winch dozens of times over the course of a year doing everything from airing up my tires, recovering a Toyota 4-Runner that rolled down a 50' gulch up and helping me off of some big boulders that I got myself high centered on. However, I think this was by far the most interesting use of my beloved WARN PowerPlant - recovering a 37" tire out of the Colorado River in Moab. Sincerely, Eddie
